While SAP needs a Microsoft, talks of acquisition in premature

While a lot of the analysts were busy following Google's Chrome OS, the Microsoft and SAP arrangement to take on Oracle hardly created a buzz.

Oracle has been hurting SAP’s in the enterprise application software  space while Microsoft’s database is fighting for market share. By collaborating they intend to turn on the pressure on Oracle in both the businesses.

While Microsoft's strategy is similar in the collaborative approach followed in the Yahoo deal, SAP could do with any help it can get as it bleeds in its fight against Oracle.

One needs to see if the collaboration go take some other shape following some M&A activity
